Nice article. I did have a suggestion, I buy REIT preferred shares, but also preferred shares which qualify for the preferential taxation. While the current returns are lower for the same rated preferred stock, the after tax returns tend to be higher. This is especially true for lower taxable income investors where you do not have to pay any income tax on preferentail preferred stock dividends. I feel that this should be at least covered to ensure that readers are aware of this information.
Which other companies are you using? I tend to avoid bank preferred shares since they are non-cumulative. They have to do it that way because of regulation, but I don't like it.
